The Fable Glow-Up Guide
You’ve got the goods. Now, let’s keep them looking (and burning) like a masterpiece.
Whether you’ve treated yourself or someone truly loves you, welcome. You’re now the owner of a Fable candle, and sculptural wax requires a different kind of love than your standard jar candle. Consider this your curated guide to the perfect burn, the ultimate shelfie, and keeping your art objects in pristine condition.
LET’S TALK SCULPTURE
Our sculptural pieces are crafted from the most beautiful, sustainable refined soy and New Zealand beeswax. They emit a delicate, natural honey scent designed to compliment (never compete with) your dinner party menu or the atmosphere of your home. Because they aren’t confined to a jar, these candles are true objets d’art. They are curiosities, spectacles, and conversation starters all in one.
The Curation: Place them as a "stilled life" centrepiece or a pop of colour on a curated shelf. We recommend styling them on a dedicated candle tray or a non-porous surface; art this realistic deserves a proper stage (and your furniture will thank you). We love a hunk of marble or a sparkling gold tray.
The Experience: Keep them as permanent decor pieces to "consume with your eyes," or lean into the theatre of the burn. There is nothing quite like a dining table scattered with sculptural wax, warping and dripping into a final, fleeting work of art while guests ooh and aah appropriately.
THE BIRTHDAY EDIT
Make a Wish (but let’s make it beautiful!)
Our Birthday Candles aren't just for cakes; they are made for celebrating the everyday. Whether they are crowning a masterpiece from the bakery or flickering on an upside down egg cup for an impromptu wish, these are your "tiny theater" moments.
The Pro-Tip: Because our birthday wicks are delicate, give them a quick trim before the party starts. They burn fast and bright - just like a good celebration should.
The Keepsake: Once the wish is made, don’t just toss the box. Our "Eye" boxes were designed to be kept, repurposed, or displayed. A little bit of Fable for your treasures.
Form, Function & Fruit
Precision in the Wax. Purity in the Flame.
We don’t just pour candles; we engineer light. For the last six years, we’ve obsessed over the balance between sculptural form and flawless function. Our goal? A clean, stable, even burn—no smoke, no drama, just a masterpiece in motion.
From the Garden to the Studio Every Fable begins with a walk through the market or a neighbor’s garden. We hand-cast from life, selecting the perfect heirloom tomato or a lemon for its "perfectly imperfect" silhouette.
The Multistage Process
The Cast: Real fruit, captured in time.
The Calibration: We custom-blend our wax density and wick size for every individual shape. It’s a science as much as an art.
The Finish: Each piece is hand-poured and finished in our Auckland studio. No two are exactly the same—because nature doesn't do "identical."
The Rules
A Guide to the Perfect Burn
We want your candle to last as long as possible and look incredible while doing it. Follow these house rules for a cleaner, safer, more beautiful glow.
The First Date: For our giant candles. Always allow the wax pool to reach the edge on your first light. This sets the "memory" of the candle and prevents tunneling. It’s a commitment, but it’s worth it.
The Trim: Keep your wick clipped to 6mm before every light. A long wick is a smoky wick, keep it short for a clean, stable flame. This is especially important for relighting a candle.
The 45-Minute Rule: For our sculptural pieces, we recommend a 45-minute maximum burn time. Give your art a breather to maintain its silhouette.
The Stage: Never light a sculptural candle directly on a surface. Use a heatproof tray or a deep ceramic dish to catch the theatrical drips of our "objet d’art."
The Setting: Keep away from rebellious breezes, open windows, or draughts. A steady flame is a happy flame.
The Safe Zone: Keep out of reach of curious paws, little hands, and the occasional clumsy guest.
Extinguish with Grace: Snuff, don't blow. It’s the chicest way to end the night (and keeps the scent of the wick out of your room).

Let’s Talk Candle Bloom
That silken, frosted blush on your beeswax? That’s bloom. A natural sign of purity, not a flaw. Beeswax is a living material - it remembers, it shifts, it speaks. That is why we adore it like we do.
If you prefer a polished look, gently buff it with a soft cloth and it will gleam brilliantly. Or simply leave it - some of us like our wax a little wild.
